Frequently Asked Questions
What is the intake session like?
The intake session (or initial session) is the “getting to know you” session, but with a little more depth. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping to change, and what’s been going on in your life. We'll go over your background, relationships, mental health history, and anything else that helps me understand the bigger picture.

Why don’t you take more insurances?
I accept a limited number of insurance plans so I can keep more control over how I practice and the kind of therapy I provide.
Working outside of insurance allows us to focus on you and spend our time working toward the goals that matter to you, with a personalized approach.
Why don’t you offer free consultations?
I don’t offer separate free consultations because I’d rather use that time for an actual therapy session. Your initial session gives us the opportunity to see if we’re a good fit and start getting to the heart of what brought you in.
How often do I come to therapy?
It depends on what you’re working through, your goals, your schedule, and what feels sustainable for you.

Some people benefit from weekly sessions, especially when they’re working through something more actively. Others may move to every other week once they feel ready. We’ll decide this together based on what makes sense for you
